While several glimpses of the wedding and other festivities surfaced on the internet, Ira shared about a special gesture by her mother Reena Dutta.
Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan, tied the knot with her longtime partner, Nupur Shikhare, earlier this year. The couple had a lavish wedding in Rajasthan, followed by a star-studded reception in Mumbai. While several glimpses of the wedding and other festivities surfaced on the internet, Ira shared about a special gesture by her mother, Reena Dutta. Ira revealed that the wedding cake for their Udaipur ceremony was specially baked by her mother.
Ira Khan took to Instagram to share some memories from her wedding festivities in January. She posted a series of photos showing her mother, Reena Dutta, and others meticulously creating her wedding cake at the Taj Aravali Resort & Spa in Udaipur, where the festivities took place. Her mother was seen whipping up the cream and later icing the cake.
The carousel ended with a photo of the final cake presented during the event, which had a rustic look with blue and white flowers. In the caption, Ira fondly wrote, “The OG crew + Cherise. No one else could have baked our wedding cake. As Popeye was feeding me or after (can’t remember), I look at Mama and she’s mouthing at me, “Is it dry?”
Some time back, to wish her father Aamir Khan on his birthday, Ira shared a set of pictures from her wedding festivities. In the Instagram post, Aamir could be seen helping Ira with her veil. The following stills were from her Sangeet night. Aamir could be seen planting a kiss on Ira’s forehead.
The pictures also showed Ira and Aamir having a great time at her Mehndi festivities. In the caption, Ira wrote, “Hi. Happy Birthday. I was thinking about how you keep messing up my hair… and then I remembered that you’ve been doing that since I was 5! With all the boycuts. Love you lots, soon-to-be old man.”
The wedding celebrations of Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare kicked off first in Mumbai and then at their white wedding in Udaipur. The couple hosted a grand wedding reception in Mumbai attended by a slew of celebrities including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Juhi Chawla, Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, among others.
