Officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) continue to draw parallels between the two leagues and claim to offer better and more competitive cricket. Whenever such claims are made, Indian cricket fans leave no stone unturned to counter them. The war of words escalated to a level when India cricketer Robin Uthappa quipped. His four-word reply to a Pakistani journalist left fans divided, setting the social space on fire.
The incident happened on Saturday when journalist Arfa Firoz Zak in Pakistan’s Geo News Urdu took to the micro-blogging site and said that the PSL grew rapidly in an era where other countries were also hosting their respective T20 leagues. Although he admitted that there is ‘no comparison’ between the IPL and the PSL, he mentioned that the Indian T20 league was successful because of the lack of competitors in the ‘market’.
In response, Uthappa wrote, ‘IPL made the market!!’.

Uthappa is gearing up for the upcoming IPL season where he will play for the defending champions Chennai Super Kings. In the mega auction, the CSK management put their faith in the veteran India batsman and bought him back for Rs 2 crore.
The team led by veteran wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni has started its preparations in Surat. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Daryl Mitchell, Dwayne Bravo and Adam Milne joined the camp earlier this week. The defending champions will start their campaign in the first match of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai on 26 March.
