Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Aiden Markam won the toss and elected to bat against Lucknow Super Giants captain Krunal Pandya. SRH made a few changes to their side, with Sanvir Singh making his debut for the Orange Army while Fazalhaq Farooqui returned to the playing XI.
On the other hand, Lucknow skipper Krunal also made some changes in his team, bringing in Prerak Mankad and Yudhvir Singh Charak in place of Deepak Hooda and Mohsin Khan.

For Lucknow, Swapnil Singh, Daniel Sams, Ayush Badoni, Deepak Hooda and Arpit Guleria were included in the impact sub list, while Sunrisers’ list of impact players included Vivrant Sharma, Sanveer Singh, Mayank Dagar, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Marco Johnson. ,
Speaking on the toss, Markam said that his team was looking at the possibility of playing 4 matches in a span of 8 days.
“We are going to bat first, looks like a good wicket. It would be on the dry side. Hopefully we can score well and put scoreboard pressure on them. You have to strike a balance between the circumstances and what is working for the team. In day’s play, you don’t see it (pitch) changing too much. We are in an exciting position, hope it brings out the best in us. We have a batting all-rounder (Sanveer Singh), he comes in for us,” Markram said.
Krunal, meanwhile, said he hoped the pitch would not change much as he wanted to bat first.
“We could have batted first as well, but I don’t mind (bowling) either. It has been a season of ups and downs for us. You have to play good cricket, that’s what matters. The wicket looks good and it will play like that. We have some changes. Prerak and Yudhvir are there for Hooda and Mohsin,” said Pandya.
