Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss against Delhi Capitals and chose to bowl first, both the captains made 2-2 changes in their playing XI.
Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and elected to field against Delhi Capitals at Dharamshala on Wednesday, May 17. Dhawan cited that he opted to bowl as he was not sure about what to expect from the pitch. His opponent, Delhi Capitals captain David Warner also said that he too wants to bowl first.
Dhawan revealed that he made 2 changes to his playing XI, Atharva Tayde and Kagiso Rabada come into the PBKS lineup while David Warner also made 2 changes to his team.
Prithvi Shaw returned to the side along with Anrich Nortje, who replaced an injured Mitchell Marsh.
“We will bowl first. It’s a new track. We’ll see how it goes ahead. Luck is in our hands. Just come and enjoy this evening. Just stay calm and focus on your process We have two changes. Tide and Rabada come in,” Dhawan said during the toss.
Warner, on the other hand, also said that he too wanted to bowl first, and was hoping to bounce back from his side after their loss to Punjab last time around, despite DC already being out of the playoff race.
“We would have bowled first. There is some dew. It should be played only once for the full 40 overs. We have a great edge in this game thanks to this wonderful venue. Injured Marsh,” Warner said.
