Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a thrilling 7-run win over Rajasthan Royals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday. Death over specialist Harshal Patel saved 20 runs in the last over by showing restraint. It was not an ideal start for Harshal as 10 runs came off the first three balls but the RCB pacer bounced back in the last three balls to get his team two crucial points.
For Rajasthan, Dhruv Jurel fought hard till the end and remained unbeaten after scoring 34 runs in 16 balls. Ravichandran Ashwin also scored 12 off 6 balls but failed to get Rajasthan Royals over the line.

Chasing a target of 190 runs, Mohammad Siraj hit the wood in the very first over, breaking the defense of Jos Buttler. It was a Jaffa from Siraj and Buttler was stunning as the ball skimmed through the space between his bat and pad to clear the middle stump. However, RR bounced back as Devdutt Padikkal returned to form against his former team and smashed 52 off 34 balls. He shared a crucial 98-run partnership for the second wicket with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a crucial 47 off 37 balls.

Earlier, Samson decided to bowl against RCB after winning the toss and Trent Boult justified his decision by dismissing the in-form Kohli for a golden duck. Boult pitches it to Kohli, who misses it completely and falls in front of the wicket.

RCB promoted Shahbaz Ahmed up the batting order, but Boult surprised him with a short ball in the third over of the match, dismissing him for just 2 runs.
However, Faf du Plessis (62) and Glenn Maxwell (77) took the lead and revived Bangalore’s innings and helped them post a challenging total.
Maxwell and du Plessis put on 127 runs for the third wicket in just 66 balls, marking the third time the pair have crossed the 100-run mark in seven matches so far this season.
But RCB faltered after Du Plessis was run out in the 14th over off a brilliant direct throw from Yashasvi Jaiswal. The home side were reduced from 139/2 to 189/9 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, losing seven wickets for 50 runs.
Mahipal Lomror (8), Dinesh Karthik (16) and Suyash Prabhudesai (0) once again failed to live up to expectations for RCB as they continue to rely on their top 3 – Kohli, Faf and Maxwell to score most of the runs .
Yuzvendra Chahal was the most impressive bowler with 1/28 from four overs. While Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma took two wickets each, their economy rate was more than 10.
