Nagerkoti was signed by Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2022 mega auction for Rs 1.1 crore
Delhi Capitals have announced that young fast bowler Kamlesh Nagarkoti has been ruled out of the rest of the IPL 2023 matches due to a back injury. The young fast bowler has not played a single match so far this season and has now been replaced by Priyam Garg in the squad.
“Uttar Pradesh batsman Priyam Garg has been named as Nagarkoti’s replacement and DC has signed him at his base price of Rs 20 lakh. The attacking batsman was first picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2020 and has featured in 21 IPL games for SRH over three seasons,” the BCCI released in a statement.
Nagerkoti was signed by Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction for INR 1.1 Crore after Kolkata Knight Riders released him.

Priyam had been traveling with the Delhi Capitals team for the past few days as he also trained with the team ahead of their clash with Kolkata Knight Riders.

Garg, who captained India to a runners-up finish in the 2020 U19 Men’s Cricket Representing Uttar Pradesh in the World Cup in South Africa and domestic cricket, has so far scored 251 runs in the IPL at an average of 15.69 and a strike-rate of 115.14, including a half-century.

In IPL 2023, Delhi managed to successfully end their five-match losing streak with a tight four-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, though they are still at the bottom of the 10-team points table. Their next match in the tournament is against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Nagarkoti has claimed just 5 wickets in the 12 IPL matches he has played so far.
