Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to field against Punjab Kings in Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. Pandya returned to the XI after missing out against Kolkata Knight Riders, where Rinku Singh stunned Gujarat Titans at their home ground with five straight sixes in the final over.
Gujarat also included former Purple Cap winner Mohit Sharma in the XI as Yash Dayal missed Rinku’s five sixes.
With the return of Hardik, Vijay Shankar, who scored a blistering half-century against KKR, has been demoted to a substitute role.

Hardik talked about KKR losing the toss and suggested that the team played good cricket till the last over.
“Bowling first. Just looking for a good wicket, and a good chase from everything I’ve seen. Was a loss in a million. We’re the kind of team that takes it with a smile. Dhawan admitted that he too was looking to field first but said the toss doesn’t bother his team much.
“Doesn’t bother us. Was looking to bowl first. We are playing good cricket. It’s quite normal to go through this in cricket. It won’t be the first or the last (loss against SRH). Looking forward to putting up a great show Two changes – Rabada comes in for Nathan. Bhanuka comes in for Raza,” said Dhawan.
