IPL 2022: With the help of Quinton de Kock, Evin Lewis, Lucknow Super Giants beat Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets

Brilliant batting performance by Ravi Bishnoi followed by a stellar bowling performance quinton de kock, Evin Lewis Lucknow Super Giants registered their first win in the history of the Indian Premier League by defeating four-time champions Chennai Super Kings by six wickets in a thrilling encounter at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

With two wickets falling, LSG needed a partnership and West Indies power-hitter Lewis came on, forming a vital partnership with de Kock to put his side close to victory. When LSG smelled of victory. Young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi (2/24) did a terrific job with the wet ball in an otherwise poor performance by the Super Giants’ bowling unit.

Andrew Tye (2/41) managed to take two wickets in his final over. Coming to bat, Uthappa looked like a man on a mission as he slammed Avesh Khan (2/38) for one after the other in the first two balls of the innings. With the ball coming well on the bat, he blew it across the park.

CSK were dealt a blow when Bishnoi marked a direct hit from backward point by Ruturaj Gaikwad (1), which was well short of the crease in the third over. But Uthappa and newcomer Moeen Ali (35) continued the attack with only fours and sixes. The Super Giants bowlers had no answer for both as CSK scored 73 for one at the end of the powerplay.

Uthappa hit eight fours and a six in total, while Moeen hit four fours and two sixes during his 22-ball knock. It was again Bishnoi who delivered the second breakthrough when he trapped Uthappa’s leg before with a swift delivery, soon after the batsman reached his half-century.

Dubey hit three fours from where he left Uthappa mismantha chimera (0/49), who struggled with his line in the ninth over.
It was a bad day for the Sri Lankan as he repeatedly hit the ball in the ground, leaving easy boundaries.

Poor fielding made matters worse for LSG, with the bowlers struggling after getting nothing off the wicket. Dubey and Ambati Rayudu (27) put on a 60-run partnership to keep CSK on the big score.
