IPL 2022, RR vs GT: His teammates should learn from him- Yuvraj congratulates Jos Buttler for his gentlemanly conduct

Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh heaped praise on England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler during the ongoing Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans match in IPL 2022.

During the 12th over, when Jimmy Neesham was bowling to GT skipper Hardik Pandya, the latter pulled him. As Jose pulled a good slide to stop the ball, he touched the rope while trying to release the throw.

It looked like a good effort but Butler sent a signal to the umpire to check. However, replays showed the Englishman touching the boundary while giving Gujarat a free throw.

Butler showed sportsmanship when he indicated to the umpire that his feet would be touching the boundary ropes after an excellent fielding effort in the clash vs Gujarat Titans.

Singh appreciated a good effort from Butler as he was trying to save a boundary but was not sure whether he came in contact with the boundary rope while saving the ball as GT captain Hardik Pandya missed a glance . The fact that Buttler asked for a third umpire referral without a false claim caught Yuvraj Singh’s attention.

Singh wrote on Twitter, “We still have gentlemen in the game of cricket!!! @josbuttler Other players should learn from him especially teammates!!! #IPL2022 #RRvGT.” (sic)

As Singh praised Butler’s effort, many highlighted the last line of his tweet, saying Butler’s teammates should learn from him. Fans reported that Yuvraj took a dig at Ravichandran Ashwin as he was facing issues with him since the days when the off-spinner was the captain of Punjab Kings.
