IPL 2022, PBKS vs CSK: Liam Livingstone Shines Punjab beat Chennai by 54 runs

new Delhi: Liam Livingstone’s all-rounder performance helped Punjab Kings beat defending champions Chennai Super Kings by 54 runs at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. Livingstone played a brilliant innings of 60 runs in just 32 balls, taking two wickets in his two overs. Tonight was CSK’s third consecutive defeat in IPL 2022. For the first time in the history of IPL, Chennai have now lost their first three games in a row.

Elected to bat after losing the toss, Punjab had a poor start. Their captain Mayank Agarwal lost his wicket on the second ball of the match itself. CSK kept themselves on top by taking another wicket in the next over as Chris Jordan was run out by Dhoni.

Punjab was reduced to 14/2. Liam Livingstone then not only scored a quick half-century, but a 95-run partnership with Shikhar Dhawan pulled his team back into the match and posted a respectable 180/8 against Chennai.

During his remarkable innings, Livingstone hit the longest six of IPL 2022. In the 5th over of the innings, he hit a 108m long six over mid-wicket. This is the longest six of the season so far. In the same over, he scored 26 runs with the help of three sixes and two fours.
