As soon as the ball was called a no-ball at height, the entire LSG dugout stood up, pointing towards Andy Flower’s officials strongly protesting the decision. Meanwhile, on the field, Krunal Pandya did not agree to it and found himself involved with the captain.
The two argued with umpire Jay Madangopal who reached that decision on the back of a call made by square leg umpire Michael Gough. After a rain delay of an hour and ten minutes, Patidar smashed an unbeaten 112 off just 54 balls, hitting 12 fours and seven sixes, to clear Lucknow’s bowling attack. Patidar was ruthless in the final five overs, producing a brilliant 84 with Dinesh Karthik hitting an unbeaten 37 as Bangalore posted a mammoth total of 207/4.
