when IPL Many new faces rose to the occasion in 2022 and to grab the opportunity with both hands, many big-ticket players had a terrifying experience and struggled to put on an impressive performance.

Let’s take a look at 5 players who made a flop show in IPL 2022:

Rohit Sharma: The Mumbai Indians skipper is touted as one of the coveted Indian payers but had a grueling season. 14 matches, 268 runs without a single half-century – this is not the Rohit we have seen in previous years. But IPL 2022 proved to be his worst season so far. His highest score in the tournament was 48, against Sunrisers, and the lowest was a duck against Chennai Super Kings. Out of 14 innings, 6 times he got out on a score of one point. His average of 19.14 is the lowest in the last fifteen years.

Virat Kohli: It is surprising to see his name in the list of flop players but it is true that IPL 2022 was one of the worst season for Virat Kohli. His early dismissal became a hot topic of discussion in the cricketing fraternity and the duck he scored this year should not be forgotten. Kohli has got a total of 6 ducks in his entire IPL career and three of them came in 2022. The Indian Premier League’s highest scorer struggled big this season, scoring 341 runs in 16 matches at an average of 22.73. He also scored a few fifties but got out in his 20s on most occasions. This is the fifth time that Kohli has scored 350 runs in a season.

Kane Williamson: Another captain on the list is Kane Williamson, who had a terrible time in IPL 2022. He promoted himself in the batting order as an opener but could not score runs. This was his second season as a team leader and he averaged 19.64, his worst performance in this IPL career. Although he got a score of fifty-plus in the game against Gujarat Titans, he could not keep the momentum going. He scored 216 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 93.51.

Rishabh Pant: The dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman is known for his brutal approach against quality bowlers, but this season, he seemed to be under the pump. Pant captained Delhi Capitals well, but he remained quite silent with a bat in his hand. He scored 340 runs in 14 matches at an average of 30.91. However, he also did not score any fifty this year. His highest score was 44 (against LSG) while the lowest was zero against PBKS.

Mohd Siraj: Hyderabad’s right hand speed was once the invention of the IPL. But this year it was a bit tough for him. His bowling lacked fire as he consistently failed to trouble the opposition batsmen. He conceded plenty of runs and made minimal impact. He appeared in 15 matches this season and managed to take only 9 wickets. He scored runs at an economy of 10.08 and had a bowling average of 57.11.
