BCCI is conducting the closing ceremony for the first time in 3 years IPL who will see the performance of his choice Bollywood Superstar Ranveer Singh and music composer AR Rahman. The theme is 75 years of India’s independence.
“It is going to be a mega finale not only because it is happening after many years, but also because it is 15 years of IPL. This in itself is a milestone. Also, we will celebrate 75 years of independence through Rahman’s concert. So, we were very excited when we got the contract from BCCI,” Chanda Singh, Director, TCM, organizer of IPL 2022 closing ceremony, told InsideSport website in an exclusive chat.

The closing ceremony of IPL is being held for the first time after three years. The last time it was organized was in 2019. The closing ceremony will begin at 6:30 PM IST.
The theme of the closing ceremony will be celebrating 75 years of India’s independence and 15 successful years of IPL. AR Rahman will dedicate the concert to celebrate India’s cricket across seven decades.

For the first time, the IPL finale will be broadcast in Augmented Reality (AR). Altogether more than 700 people will perform in this event.
“The first challenge is to adapt the program to the stadium audience. Although the event will be broadcast live, you will also need to prepare the schedule for the offline crowd in the stadium. Therefore, you can’t just focus your entire performance on the camera. So, you have to make a plan so that everyone can be a part of the experience,” Chanda Singh said.
“Our main attraction will be AR Rahman and his soldiers apart from Ranveer Singh. We will have folk artists from all over India. We will have folk artistes from all 10 states celebrating 10 teams. There will also be different folk artists as many states have different culture,” said Chanda Singh.
