IPL 2021 | Slowly but surely, we are coming down the drain: RCB captain Virat Kohli

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday expressed happiness over his team’s thumping victory over Rajasthan Royals, saying the Red Army is “slowly but surely getting into the groove”. Win now strengthens chances of making for Bangalore IPL 2021 playoff. “As you saw in the beginning, the break was tough. We were blown away in game 1. That defeat, however, gave us confidence. In the second game also we weren’t quite there, got out 25-30 with the bat. But the last two matches we are going in the right direction. Slowly but surely, we are getting into the groove,” Kohli said after the match.

All-rounder Glenn Maxwell performed brilliantly for Bangalore in Wednesday’s win. He took an important stand with KS India after the dismissals of Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal. India were bowled out for 44 by Mustafizur Rahman but Maxwell completed the chase by dismissing Chris Morris for 22 in the next over.

“We have got some good starts. Devdutt and I have focused on giving the team a good start so that AB can build up the middle order with Bharat and Maxwell. The boys have stepped up, so it is important for us,” Kohli said.
