IPL 2021: Shami and Bishnoi help Punjab beat Hyderabad by 5 runs

Hyderabad Post 125/7

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a regular strike with the ball as Punjab Kings could manage only 125/7 in 20 overs. On a pitch that helped deliver slow deliveries, Hyderabad took full advantage of it and kept Punjab tight throughout the innings.

Opting to bat first, Punjab did not have a good start and scored only 26 runs in four overs. KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal struggled to time the ball. Bhuvneshwar Kumar threatens Rahul’s outer edge, but with no success as Rahul gets away with awkward boundaries.

Rahul’s sluggishness at the crease came to an end when he flicked the first ball of Jason Holder straight over mid-wicket in the fifth over. On the fifth ball, Holder takes his second wicket as Agarwal drives straight to mid-off.

Chris Gayle’s quiet time at the crease ended with Rashid Khan getting him out lbw in the eleventh over. Nicholas Pooran hits Sandeep Sharma for a six over deep mid-wicket. But Sharma’s slow delivery saw Pooran coming into the hawk early and taking the catch in the second attempt, went straight to the bowler from the end of the bat.
