IPL 2021, KKR vs DC – ‘No words to express’: Rishabh Pant after defeat in Qualifier 2

Delhi Capitals heartbroken in Qualifier 2 of the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) against Kolkata Knight Riders, suffered a three-wicket loss to be knocked out of the tournament. KKR were heading for a one-sided victory with a score of 123/1 in the 16th over but DC made an incredible comeback to take six wickets in the next 23 balls to put KKR under pressure.

However, on the fifth ball of the final over, Rahul Tripathi hit a six to take KKR to the final of the season.

After the hard loss, a troubled looking Rishabh Pant said that the team kept believing in the game throughout.

“I don’t have words to express at the moment. Nothing can change after the match. We always believed and stayed in the game for as long as possible. The bowlers pulled it back but it is unfortunate that this happened ” T on our way,” Rishabh Pant said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Capitals were reduced to 135/5 in 20 overs in Sharjah as KKR bowlers restricted Delhi’s batsmen with precise line and length. DC’s top scorer was Shikhar Dhawan (36), who batted at a poor strike rate of 92.31.

“He (KKR) bowled really well in the middle overs. We were stuck and were unable to rotate the strike,” Pant admitted.

Delhi Capitals had reached the finals of the 2020 season and finished first in the league stage this year, and Pant expects a strong season for the team in 2022.

Pant said, “Hopefully we can come back for a strong season next year. We played really good cricket throughout the season. We stayed together and took care of each other. Hopefully we can do something next. Years will improve and come back strongly.” .
