Recently, Instagram head Adam Mosseri answered some of the most widely asked questions about the platform, its algorithm, and how it ranks posts in feed, in a blog post. Mosseri says the main “misunderstanding” about the Instagram algorithm is that there is a single algorithm whereby people see certain posts and hide some. However, in reality, it is actually “a variety of algorithms, classifiers and procedures, each with its own purpose.”
