Kerala Popular Front (PFI) leader Yahiya Tangal on Saturday made a controversial remark against high court judges, saying their “innerwear is saffron”. His remarks come in the wake of a recent provocative sloganeering. At a rally in Alappuzha, Tangal said, “The courts are easily shocked now. The judges of the High Court are shocked to hear the slogans of our Alappuzha rally. Do you know the reason? The reason is that his inner wear is saffron. Since. It’s saffron. They will heat up very fast. You will feel the burning sensation and it will bother you.”

In the viral video, a boy at a PFI rally in Alappuzha was seen raising the slogan “Hindus should keep rice for their last rites and Christians should keep incense for their last rites. If you live decently, then You can live in our land and if you don’t live graciously, we know azaadi (freedom). Live graciously, graciously, graciously.”

Earlier, PFI state president CP Muhammad Bashir said on Tuesday that this slogan is against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He said his party RSS would continue to fight and oppose terrorism.

This posed a direct threat to the Hindu and Christian populations living in Kerala, with the PFI warning that they would face the death penalty if they did not line up.

Kerala Police on Friday arrested 18 more people in the PFI sloganeering case.

The Kerala High Court has directed the police to take appropriate action against the Popular Front of India in connection with the alleged provocative sloganeering in connection with the May 21 rally in Alappuzha.
