‘Inept’ Jagan unfit to continue as Andhra Pradesh CM: Chandrababu Naidu

Ongole (AP): Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday took a jibe at the YSR Congress rule in Andhra Pradesh on several issues and said a “disqualified” person like YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was unfit to continue as chief minister. was. Is any section of the society happy with Jagan’s rule? What has Jagan done for the people of Andhra Pradesh in the last three years other than vengeance,” questioned the former chief minister.

In his inaugural address at Mahanadu, the TDP’s annual convention here, Naidu called for “Save Jagan, Quit Andhra Pradesh”, calling on people to oust the “deplorable and ruinous” regime in the state. “Jagan is a psychopath. All his thoughts and actions are destructive. The state has suffered huge losses in his three years of rule so far,” the TDP chief said.

He warned that it would be the end of the state’s ‘achche din’ if Reddy continues to be the chief minister. That’s why I have given a call of ‘Save Jagan, save Andhra Pradesh’. All classes should work in unison and save the state from further destruction. The former chief minister recalled that his previous government had spent 52 per cent of the budget on welfare programmes, which has been reduced to 41 per cent by the present government.

“Yet, these people brazenly claim that they have a welfare government! Where is all the revenue of the state going? Where are the central grants going? What about lakhs of crores of rupees borrowed by this government,” Naidu questioned. He demanded that the government publish the facts on the state’s finances.

The former CM said that while welfare programs have been washed away, the state administration has completely abandoned any development. Naidu said the multipurpose Polavaram project, the lifeline of Andhra Pradesh and Amaravati, the capital, is a testimony to this.

“In the last three years there is no road, no other infrastructure development, but the government is looting people in the name of one tax or the other. It is also collecting tax on waste. This is the first Mahanadu that TDP has organized as a public function after a gap of three years. While in 2019, Mahanu was not held due to the party’s electoral defeat, it only conducted brief online sessions in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mahanu, the biggest “festival” for the party rank and file, this time brought a new spirit. “Telugu Desam (party) has turned 40 now. It has seen many ups and downs in those four decades, but the kind of obstacles and troubles it faced in the last three years under the oppressive Jagan regime is unprecedented. It pains me a lot,” Naidu said in an emotional tone.

He, however, insisted that the TDP workers were not afraid of any adversity or threats. “Not only our party workers but everyone in the state is feeling suffocated and disappointed. This should lead to the doom of Jagan,” warned Naidu.
