India’s Lakshya Sen suffered a straight-game loss to top seed Kento Momota of Japan in the first round of the Indonesia Open Super 1000 here on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old from Almora, who lost in straight games to Momota in Round 16 last week, went down to Japan 21-23, 15-21 to the two-time world champion in 53 minutes.
In another men’s singles match, Parupalli Kashyap crashed out of the competition after losing 11-21, 14-21 to Loh Keen Yew of Singapore. Men’s doubles pair of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila went down 20-22, 13-21 to Korea’s Choi Seolgyu and Kim Wonho in the opening round.
Venkat Gaurav Prasad and Juhi Devangan also had a disappointing day as they lost 12-21, 4-21 to German pair of Jons Ralfie Jansen and Linda Effler.
