What changes in the current code?
According to the new code, the work week can be reduced to four days, however, the working hours in a week will remain the same. According to experts, this would mean a 12-hour working day which would translate to the current 48-hour work week.
The other change that is proposed in the new code is that the basic pay and allowances will be limited to 50 per cent of the CTC (Cost-to-Company), which will mean that the hand pay of the employees will be reduced. , However, the provident fund drawn by the employees will increase, thereby increasing the employer’s contribution to it.
