PM Modi lauds efforts of healthcare, frontline workers as India administers record 2 crore COVID vaccine doses

As India set a new record by giving over 2 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the country’s doctors, innovators, administrators, nurses, health care and all front-line workers on the success of the immunization drive. Dedicated.

“Every Indian would be proud of today’s record vaccination numbers. I acknowledge our doctors, innovators, administrators, nurses, health care and all frontline workers who have worked hard to make the vaccination campaign a success. Let us Keep promoting vaccination to defeat COVID- 19,” tweeted PM Modi.

According to the COWIN portal, 2,24,85,624 doses of vaccine have been given till 9:24 pm tonight.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and several state governments today aimed to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday historic by administering a record number of COVID vaccinations.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Twitter that this historic achievement is a gift to PM Modi on behalf of health workers and countrymen.

“#VaccineSeva A gift from health workers and countrymen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Today, on his birthday, India has crossed the historic figure of 2 crore vaccines in a day setting a new record. Very Good India !” tweeted Mandaviya.

Union Minister Smriti Irani also tweeted on the occasion and said that India’s gift to PM Modi is two crore vaccine doses in a day.

“India’s gift to PM @narendramodi ji! 2 crore vaccine doses in a day and counting. A big slogan to our frontline workers for their dedication. Thank you India!” He tweeted.

India has administered more than one crore COVID-19 vaccines in a day on earlier occasions.

The vaccination campaign in the country began on January 16 with the vaccination of healthcare and frontline workers. Currently, India is administering the COVID-19 vaccines- Covishield of Serum Institute of India (SII), Bharat Biotech’s Kovaxin and Sputnik V.

To intensify the campaign, on 1 April, the government opened the COVID-19 vaccination to all people above the age of 45 years. A month later, under the third phase of the vaccination campaign from May 1, India began administering the vaccine to the age group of 18 to 44 years.

Since then, the country’s vaccination campaign has been scaling new heights. On 9 August, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed the 50 crore landmark.
