According to an official release, 65 delegates from IWG member states, guest nations and international organizations invited by India to discuss the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda under India’s G20 chairmanship will attend the meeting.

The two-day G20 Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) meeting will begin in Maharashtra’s Pune city on Monday, where participants will deliberate on various aspects of infrastructure investment.

The meeting will be invited by 65 delegates from IWG member states, guest nations and international organizations India To discuss the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda under the G20 chairmanship of India, according to an official release.

The Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance and the Government of India will host the two-day IWG meetings, with Australia and Brazil as co-chairs, the release said.

The G20 Infrastructure Working Group deliberates on various aspects of infrastructure investment, including developing infrastructure as an asset class, promoting quality infrastructure investment, and identifying new instruments to mobilize financial resources for infrastructure investment Is.

The results of the Infrastructure Working Group are included in the G20 finance track priorities to promote a common objective of economic growth.

Over the years, the Infrastructure Working Group has been emphasizing on key themes of infrastructure development such as building infrastructure as an asset class, promoting Quality Infrastructure Investment (QII) indicators, infratech agenda, etc.

The theme of India’s G20 presidency ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ sets the tone for the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda as it underlines the message of equitable development and connects aptly with the discussions’ central agenda, which is flexible , creating inclusiveness. and sustainable urban infrastructure, the release said.

“In the Pune meeting, the discussion will focus on the agenda of the Infrastructure Working Group under the Indian Presidency. The key priority to be discussed in this meeting is ‘Financing Tomorrow’s Cities: Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable’.

On the first day, IWG representatives will hold several official meetings and discuss the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda.

He will also visit Pune University for tree plantation which will be followed by a high level workshop on ‘Financing for Tomorrow’s Cities’. The day will conclude with a networking dinner.

“Apart from formal discussions, the delegates will be able to experience the rich culture and beautiful landscape of the city with optional excursions like Pune Heritage Walk, city tour and visit to Mahabaleshwar,” the release said.

The G20, or Group of 20, is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s major developed and developing economies.
