India’s Covid count crosses 44K; 464 deaths recorded in last 24 hours

New Delhi: After several days of respite, India has once again started recording a rise in its daily number of coronavirus cases. According to the Union Health Ministry’s bulletin, 44,643 new COVID-19 cases and 464 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours, while 41,096 Covid-infected patients were cured.

With a total of 3,10,15,844 recoveries across the country so far, the recovery rate currently stands at 97.36%.

India’s active caseload currently stands at 4,14,159. The Center said that active cases continue to account for 1.30 percent of the total cases. The weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.14% while the daily positivity rate stands at 2.72%.

The Center said that the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered across India has exceeded 49 crore with 50.29 lakh (50,29,573) vaccine doses administered in the last 24 hours. In the provisional report compiled at 7 pm (Thursday), the government said that 27,26,494 beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years received the first dose, while 4,81,823 were given the second dose yesterday.

Overall, 16,92,68,754 persons in the age group of 18-44 years across 37 States/UTs have received their first dose and a total of 1,07,72,537 persons have received their first dose since the start of the third phase of the vaccination campaign. Received your second dose.
