Indians are the most confident travelers in the world, says study

According to research conducted by Bookings.com, one of the world’s largest digital travel companies, Indians have emerged as the most trusted travelers in the world. In its APAC Travel Confidence Index, the travel company revealed that Indians are most eager to travel to their favorite destinations.

The study focused on how confident a person is about visiting and exploring different places in the world after the COVID-19 pandemic. It also included the overall comfort level, consumer concerns and motivators that motivate them to travel. India Travel emerged first in the list of countries based on trust, followed by Vietnamese and Chinese at second and third positions, respectively.

“It is exciting to see India rise to the top of Booking.com’s APAC Travel Confidence Index. The findings highlight Indian travellers’ love of travel and readiness to explore the world once again,” Ritu Mehrotra, Commercial Director, APAC Booking.com, reported by HospeMag.

Despite COVID-19 restrictions and behavioral changes following the pandemic, 86 per cent of Indian travelers intend to travel in the next 12 months. Out of the total number, 70 per cent Indian travelers admit that their tour may be interrupted due to various restrictions. 78 percent advocated that leisure is of utmost importance in view of overall health and safety. The study involved 11,000 travelers from 11 countries in the Asia-Pacific regions.

When asked about potential barriers to their travel, 35 per cent of Indians considered border rules to be one of the biggest restrictions, while 38 per cent and 37 per cent chose travel costs and fear of mandatory quarantine as major constraints. Among the respondents, 89 per cent Indians were okay with postponing their travels due to COVID-19 cases.

Meanwhile, 87 per cent Indians responded positively to welcoming tourists and are happy that the country is opening its international borders to visitors.
