IOC’s official Twitter handle had shared similar posts promoting its e-fuel vouchers as a gift option for Diwali and Dhanteras. The minimum amount for these e-Fuel gift vouchers is Rs.500 and the maximum amount is Rs.10,000.

The central government had cut excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10, respectively, to bring down retail rates from record highs. After this, 25 NDA-ruled states announced reduction of VAT on petrol and diesel. There has been no change in the rates of petrol and diesel for more than three weeks now after the Center announced reduction in excise duty on two fuels on the eve of Diwali.
