Indian Railways’ tweet on modernization of trains created panic on the internet

Indian Railways, the world’s third largest rail network, recently posted a picture on Twitter showing the evolution of trains along with railways over time. The picture shows a collage of two photographs showcasing the old and new cockpits of trains. The tweet is getting a lot of appreciation from the netizens. In addition, based on the drawings, the railway system has undergone a significant change in technology as well as in the management of trains. In addition, the railway has experienced considerable expansion since its inception in 1853.

In recent times, railways has seen significant changes in its rail network system as well as equipment. One of the most recent developments involves the induction of Vande Bharat trains into the railway system. It is to be noted that these trains are more advanced as compared to the regular trains operated by the Railways.

Based on earlier reports, the Government of India intends to include 75 of these trains in the railway network by August 2023. As per the budget provision, the 16-coach Vande Bharat train is estimated to cost Rs 120 crore. In addition, these semi-high-speed rails are capable of traveling at an average speed of 160 kmph.

In addition, the rail network of the Indian Railways has also been instrumental in the complete electrification of various areas. To be specific, Eastern Railway achieved complete electrification of 2,848 km of Eastern Railway’s network. Adding to this, he achieved complete electrification of Konkan Railway zone much earlier.

The development of Indian Railways also involves technological development. To name a few, advances have been made in Remote Monitoring and Management of Locomotive System (REMMLOT), train status tracking, smart coaches, data science, use of QR codes, etc.
