Indian Railways: IRCTC Flags Off Guru Kripa Yatra Tourist Train From Lucknow

The first journey of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s (IRCTC) Guru Kripa Yatra tourist train was flagged off from Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow on Wednesday. Uttar Pradesh Ministers Jaiveer Singh, Baldev Singh Aulakh and other dignitaries attended the flag-off ceremony. A part of the Bharat Gaurav series of tourist trains, the Guru Kripa Yatra train will cover holy places associated with Sikhism across the country.

“The 10-night and 11-day yatra will culminate in Lucknow on April 15, 2023, for the convenience of Sikh pilgrims,” ​​said Ajit Kumar Sinha, chief regional manager, IRCTC.

During the journey, the train covers eight places: Anandpur Sahib, Kiratpur Sahib, Sirhind, Amritsar, Bhatinda, Nanded, Bidar and Patna. Pilgrims boarding the train will visit Anandpur Sahib, Kiratpur Sahib, Sirhind – Gurudwara Shri Fatehgarh Sahib, Amritsar – Shri Akal Takht, and Golden Temple, Bhatinda – Shri Damdama Sahib, Nanded – Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Sahib, Bidar – Gurudwara Shri Guru Nanak. Jhira Sahib and Patna – Gurdwara Sri Harmandirji Sahib, said railway officials. Boarding and deboarding will take place at four stations: Lucknow, Sitapur, Pilibhit and Bareilly.

IRCTC Bharat Gaurav train aims to showcase famous Indian landmarks, sculptures, dance styles and other cultural symbols that are a source of national pride. These trains have a total of 600 to 700 seats, and each coach is fitted with unarmed guards, an infotainment system and CCTV cameras. The trains have a pantry car which is well equipped to cook fresh food onboard which is based on regional cuisine and is served on the appropriate passenger seats.
