Indian Handicrafts & Gifts Fair in Greater Noida from 28th October | Noida News – Times of India

Greater Noida: 52nd edition of Indian Handicrafts and gift fair (IHGF-Delhi) will be conducted in its physical form after a gap of 18 months India Exhibition And Mart Greater Noida 28 October to 31 October.
The earlier 49th, 50th and 51st editions were held virtually during the COVID pandemic. The B2B fair is the largest gathering of foreign and domestic buyers, exporters, consultants and retailers. Compared to the previous year, the sale of handicrafts in India has registered a growth of over 60.34% during the six months of the current financial year from April to September 2021-22.
The B2B fair which could not be held in its physical form last year, will see participants from over 90 countries this year. Also, the number of participants at the fair has come down to 1500 this year, as compared to over 3,500 in the earlier years. This is due to covid pandemic as well as maintaining covid protocols related to trade exhibition issued by World Health Organization (WHO) and Government of India.
Organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), the four-day event will showcase home, lifestyle, fashion and textile products by over 1500 Indian handicraft exporters from across the country, while foreigners from over 90 countries including the United States buyer. Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, France etc. will participate in this event.
For this, all necessary safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to COVID-19 will be followed for conducting B2B trade exhibition issued by World Health Organization and Government of India. These include thermal scanning and color badge wise entry, mandatory wearing of face masks, hand sanitization machines, maintaining physical distancing, respiratory etiquette, medical facilities, isolation centers at the venue, covid enforcement officers, Aarogya Setu App (for domestic visitors) and CCTV Are included. Supervision.
EPCH Director General Dr Rakesh Kumar said, “We are organizing this fair with all necessary safety protocols related to Covid-19.”
The fair will feature over 2000 new products across 12 categories such as Houseware, Home Furnishing, Gifts & Decorative, Lamps & Lighting, Christmas & Festive Decor, Fashion Jewelry & Accessories, Spa & Wellness, Carpets & Rugs, Bathroom & Garden Goods, Educational toys and games, leather products and more.
Additional attractions include the theme pavilion of North Eastern Handicrafts, Rajasthan, LadakhJ&K, Bihar and Southern India along with awareness seminars on trends and forecasts in the handicrafts sector.
The interest in the handicrafts sector can be gauged from the fact that there was widespread questioning and publicity before the fair was hosted in India. World wide publicity and publicity campaigns were carried out through digital advertisements in international magazines and portals to make the fair a success. The export of handicrafts during the six months of the current financial year from April to September, 2021-22 stood at Rs. 15,995.73 crore, registering a growth of over 60.34% over the corresponding period of the previous year.
