Indian Army is recruiting Mandarin language interpreters, direct recruitment, know how to apply

Indian Army has invited applications to fill six vacant posts of Mandarin Language Interpreters. Of the total interpreters to be appointed, five will be civilian candidates and one will be an ex-service officer. This will be the first such recruitment in the Territorial Army and comes in the backdrop of recent efforts by China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to recruit Hindi interpreters, possibly as part of its intelligence-gathering efforts.

To apply, candidates have to duly fill a form available on the official website -jointerritorialarmy.gov.in along with required information and photocopies of required documents. The last date to apply is 10 August. Candidates will be hired through an interview process. It will be conducted in August or September, however, the last date will be announced at a later stage of the process.

Indian Army Mandarin Language Interpreters Recruitment 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications: To be eligible for the recruitment, a civilian candidate must have completed graduation in Mandarin language with at least 55 percent marks. Candidates having Graduation in any discipline with two years internship diploma or HSK-IV level from a recognized university or institute can also apply. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in Mandarin interpretation, translation or teaching.

Graduates in Mandarin language from FL/AEC trug colleges and centers with minimum “BX” grading and ex-officio candidates with two year internship diploma can apply. In addition, applicants must be physically and medically fit in all aspects. The recruitment is not for serving members of the Army, Navy, Air Force or any other police and paramilitary force.

Age Range: Applicant’s age should be between 18 to 42 years as on the date of application.
