Jaishankar warns goons linked to Khalistan that it is not the India of the past which allows such incidents to happen and there will be consequences for such incidents

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday said India would not accept the lowering of its national flag, sending a strong message to Khalistani separatists who had earlier vandalized Indian diplomatic building complexes in London and San Francisco.

Khalistani separatists also vandalized temples in Australia in January and defaced statues of Mahatma Gandhi in Canada.

Jaishankar’s remarks came during an interaction with intellectuals at an event organized by the BJP metropolitan unit in Dharwad on Sunday.

Jaishankar is quoted as saying, “The days when India will take it lightly are behind us and this is not the India that will accept its national flag being pulled down by anyone.” Year,

The External Affairs Minister further said, “This is a message not only to those so-called Khalistanis but also to the British that this is my flag and if anyone tries to disrespect it, I will make it bigger.”

Jaishankar said those protesting in London, Ottawa, Melbourne, San Francisco are a very small minority. The External Affairs Minister said, “Some interests are of neighbors, some interests are of people who try to use Visa and this for personal interest.”

He said that some of them try to project it for their own benefit and there are others who do not want the best for India. He also said that host countries should ensure the safety of diplomats working there. “When we set up embassies overseas when our diplomats are doing their job, we are very clear that it is the responsibility of the country where these embassies are to provide diplomatic protection. After all, we provide security to so many foreign embassies.

Jaishankar said that if more such incidents happen, India will be forced to give a befitting reply. “If they don’t provide security, if they don’t take it seriously, if such incidents happen, they will get a reaction from India,” the foreign minister warned.

He said that the thinking of India now is different from the past. “The idea is that there is a different India today, an India that is very responsible and very determined,” he said.

He also lauded the Indian High Commissioner in London for buying a bigger flag and placing it where the flag was before it was pulled down by Khalistan-affiliated goons.
