Bharatiya Janata Party MP Mahendra Singh Solanki said in a controversial statement on Sunday that the country would eventually be left with two communities, one nationalist and the other anti-national.

The BJP MP from Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas made the remarks while referring to alleged reports of people celebrating India’s defeat against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.

He was addressing a program of Mewara community program in Ashta village of Sehore on Sunday.

Taking a jibe at those celebrating Pakistan’s victory in the recent T20 World Cup match, Solanki said, “There was a section of people who celebrated Indian defeat by bursting crackers. Defeat is a minor issue, but the problem is that these Elements chose to sing for others despite being native to India.

Mandal chief Atul Sharma said that another local leader made a controversial speech praising the Mewara community, “Muslims are considered the vote bank of the Congress party, similarly the Mewara community is the same for the BJP.”
