After the conclusion of the two Test matches, Team India will take on the West Indies in a three-match ODI series, which ended 1-0 in favor of the visiting team. This series will mark the beginning of Team India’s elaborate preparations for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Even though the performance in the series may not matter much as West Indies are coming off the back of defeats against Scotland, Netherlands and Zimbabwe having failed to qualify for the World Cup, the visitors would like to try out some players and see if they can be among the possible 20 players for the tournament.

The series has come a long way with players like Sanju Samson and Umran Malik KL RahulShreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah injured and Mohammed Shami rested. Ishan Kishan hasn’t set the stage on fire since his double hundred against Bangladesh Shubman Gill ready to open with the captain Rohit SharmaThis is a golden opportunity for Samson to play some big innings. West Indies, on the other hand, have recalled some of their white-ball stars for the series and would look to challenge the Indian team with all their might.
