Virat Kohli is set to lead Team India in the upcoming 3-match Test series against South Africa starting December 26 at Centurion. The Indian captain has been struggling to stay afloat for quite some time now. His incompatibility with the bat has been one of the major concerns for the team as well. However, under the guidance of Rahul Dravid, Kohli would like to start afresh in the upcoming tour.

Kohli on Thursday took to his official social media handle and shared a few pictures from the training session at SuperSport Park. The captain can be seen sweating it out in the nets and going through slip-catching drills with teammate Cheteshwar Pujara. Using some emoticons, Kohli wrote that he is preparing for the Boxing Day Test against the Proteas.

This is going to be Virat Kohli’s first series after being removed from the ODI captaincy. His pressure created controversy before going on tour but he returned to the nets with the same passion and vigor. Several experts have also said that working closely with Dravid can help him regain his batting mojo.

Dravid was the first Indian captain to win a Test match on South African soil. Kohli is the third captain after MS Dhoni to do so. The 31-year-old had a great tour in 2018. He was the top scorer in the Test series and also scored a century.

Apart from Kohli’s form, another major concern will be the finalizing of the playing XI. Shreyas Iyer has already strengthened his position after scoring a century on debut. At the same time, it is important to keep in mind the form of Ajinkya Rahane and Pujara. So, it will be interesting to see the playing XI for the first Test.
