Playing cricket abroad in an international environment, I learned something great from it, while adapting to different conditions and being in that setup was great for me.

“The pitch was challenging and Zimbabwe is a good team that challenged us, so it was good. It was also great to talk to and learn from some of the senior players,” said Stubbs.

Stubbs admitted that it was completely unexpected for Mumbai to call him for IPL 2022 and expressed his desire to return to the tournament next season. “Getting the call-up was a big surprise. It was great to be a part of it and I am very grateful that I got that opportunity because I got so much out of that experience as well.

“Just to talk to people like (Kiron) Pollard, Rohit Sharma and coach Mahela Jayawardene, it was great to learn from them and I tried to get as much out of it as I could. The whole setup of IPL really opens your eyes and it would be great to be back there.”
