Pant earned Gambhir’s wrath

Gambhir lashed out at Pant for playing a quick shot in a crucial position as he felt the wicket-keeper batsman should have fought the situation.

“The easiest thing is to keep someone sledging and the hardest thing is to face it when you have a bat in your hand. I would have wished that Rishabh might have fought in that position instead of getting out and going for a big one,” Gambhir said on the post-stump show on Star Sports.

The former India opener did not keep his word while cursing the wicket-keeper batsman and said that he should learn a lot from South Africa captain Dean Elgar.

“Disappointment is a very under-understood word to be honest because that’s not the way you should be playing Test cricket. Test cricket is all about learning a lot from Dean Elgar and that’s why I have said that a lot of young Indian batsmen can learn a lot from Dean Elgar too because when you play against world class bowlers, they tell you a lot. Won’t give anything Easy run,” said Gambhir.
