In the ongoing second Test at the prestigious Lord’s Cricket Stadium, there is a first blood draw between Team India and England. The first day’s action was on the visitors as they scored 276 for three with a solid start from opener Rohit Sharma, who was scoring runs at a brisk pace, and KL Rahul, who was watching. Delivery stopped from the other end. After Sharma departed, Rahul took control and scored a brilliant century to put India back in the driving seat at the end of the game on the first day.

Experienced James Anderson finally managed to break the opening stand (126 runs) between Sharma and Rahul in the 44th over. An in-swinging delivery knocks off the off stump and sends Sharma back. Hitman lost his first overseas Test century after being dismissed for 83. A few overs later, Anderson took his second wicket when he dismissed Pujara in the last ball of the 47th over.

When Indian captain Virat Kohli and Rahul were batting at the crease, a funny incident happened in the fielding in the 59th over of the first day’s play. In reply to a loose delivery from Sam Karram, Kohli who was on strike leaned forward to push the ball towards covers. As the ball swung towards the boundary, two English cricketers – Dominic Sibley and Haseeb Hameed ran after it with all their might. In the mixed type both fielders thought the second would dive first to save. However, once the two realized that they had slowed down, the two attempted to dive together which was hilarious. It didn’t take long for the cameras at the venue to capture such gaffes near the ropes.

Fortunately for England, Sibley managed to pull the ball back in time, while Hameed followed in an awkward position where he had to stop touching the ball over the rope. Between confusion and correction, Kohli and Rahul took three runs between the wickets.
