LONDON: India’s world-class pace attack delivered an incredible dacoity with the bat and then a brilliant performance with the ball to beat England by 151 runs in the second Test on Monday.

This was a match where the odds were in England’s favor but the gods of cricket wanted Virat KohliMen to write another golden chapter in the history of Indian cricket.
Mohammed Shami (56 numbers and 1/13 in 10 overs) and Jasprit Bumrah (34 No. and 3/3 in 15 overs) played the innings of his life and then shook England’s top order. Ishant Sharma (2/13 in 10 overs) and mohammed siraji (4/32) did his part to give the visitors a 1–0 lead in the five-match series.

This is India’s third Test match win at Lord’s after winning the series in 1986 and 2014 and is now on six points in the World Test Championship.
Earlier, Shami and Bumrah achieved the unimaginable feat of taking England out of the competition with a record stand of 89, which took the team’s total to 298 for 8 and made the target of 272 in two seasons quite impossible.
The two were then paired with “Daddy of the Pace Pack” Ishant as they had a serious shot at a memorable win after Bumrah’s “Jaffa” dismissal of Joe Root (33) left England for 5 wickets. The mat was captured after scoring 67 runs. Tea.

Earlier, Shami bowled a leg-cutter to catch Dom Sibley (0) and Bumrah forced Rory Burns (0) to close his bat for a catch at short mid-off.
It could have been a six sooner if Virat Kohli had caught a catch by Jos Buttler at first slip, but it was saved by his reverse cupped palms and Moeen Ali’s edge didn’t matter as Ravindra Jadeja struck an over- Did step.
But then Siraj made a relentless outgoing delivery for 90 for 7 before Moeen (13) and Sam Curran (0) took the final wicket of James Anderson.

Earlier, from a position where a defeat looked imminent after the early dismissal of Rishabh Pant (22), Shami and Bumrah displayed a never-before-seen resolve in the record stands, with Ishant (16) also taking the lead. Made a nice small contribution.
The tail-enders put together 106 runs, something that India was missing before the series began.
Early in the fifth day, Pant charged up the track to hit James Anderson through cover, but Ollie Robinson bowled a beautiful ball that went late to propel the outside edge into the keeper’s glove.

However, when the ninth and tenth numbered players were at the crease, Root decided to stretch the ground expecting several aerial shots from both, but to their horror and to the surprise of the Indian dressing room, both kept their heads down and took the proper Cricket shots were ready to be played.
Mark Wood bowled with deep point and deep mid-wicket, singles came off easily and both showed a copybook forward defense to Moeen, who has regularly troubled the top-order.
He was filled with some short deliveries and Bumrah was also hit on the helmet by Wood, but he focused even more.
His 50-run stand was generously applauded by the Lord’s crowd, mostly Indians, but it was his change room that gave him a standing ovation.
Once he added 30, Root understood that the aerial shot strategy had reversed and returned to the traditional two-slip and gully field.
But by then, Bumrah’s defense and Shami’s attack had piled up England’s frustrations, leading to some brawl between the two Indians and rival captain Root and their leading pacer Anderson.
Robinson also had a lot to say to the Indian batsmen and when it was his turn to bat, the Indian captain called him a “big mouth” and someone who is “only fit to play in England”. Was tempted .
In the end, Bumrah gave him a straight delivery and Siraj came back to wrap up a Test that will be remembered in times to come.
