Gurmeet and his wife Debina Banerjee were diagnosed with the novel coronavirus last year and have since recovered. Speaking at the conclave, the actor spoke about his struggles.

Thanking the doctors for their endless support, the Ramayan fame actor said that “14 years of quarantine felt like 14 years of exile as the struggle was endless, Debina and I were both suffering from high fever and in isolation for each other. were taking care of. Had it not been for these doctors, we would not have survived.” He added, “We used to call doctors endlessly and follow their instructions, doctors have been very helpful and kind in this pandemic and no wonder they are our God “

Gurmeet who has been actively helping people find resources as India grapples with the second wave of COVID-19, says his family especially wife Debina has been helpful in his mission.

Gurmeet Choudhary has also launched ‘The Gurmeet Choudhary Foundation’, which he says will work to “enhance the health care system” by focusing on “the plethora of diseases occurring year after year in the country”.

“When I started this campaign, I realized that most of the requests I had came with anxiety and panic. Yes, covid is definitely a deadly virus but the fear is bigger than that. Many people who were experiencing mild symptoms were panicking and trying to book beds in nearby hospitals immediately, reducing the chances of a serious patient. So, the idea of ​​starting their collaboration was to reduce the fear in the minds of the people,” Gurmeet said.

Every year, 1st July is celebrated as National Doctor’s Day by the Indian Medical Association (IMA). The day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, former Chief Minister of Bengal.
