India vs Australia Live Updates, 2nd Test, Day 2 Latest Score: KL Rahul Given Out LBW on 17 as India Lose First Wicket

Tomorrow.

Rohit and Rahul are not out on 13 and 4 as India resume Day 2 at 21/0 and they will look for a solid opening stand. Meanwhile, the spotlight will be on No.3 Cheteshwar Pujara who is playing his 100th Test and No.4 Virat Kohli who will be batting in front of a home crowd after a long time.

Australia worked with spin from the second over itself, with debutants Matthew Kuhnmann and Nathan Lyon bowling six overs between them. They are playing three spinners in the XI and it will be interesting how Pat Cummins manages his bowlers on the second day.

Pacer Mohammed Shami took four wickets while spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each. Shami wrapped up the Australian innings in the final session as he bowled Kuhnmann for a six.

Peter Handscomb (72 not out) and Usman Khawaja (81) were instrumental in boosting Australia’s total, who were again on another turning track with the bat after losing the four-match series opener inside three days. Selected for

Khawaja’s innings came to an end before tea when KL Rahul got left-arm spinner Jadeja to claim his 250th Test wicket.

Rahul dived perfectly to his right to grab the ball on a reverse sweep from Khawaja, who fell to his knees in complete disbelief.

Shami said that winning or losing the toss does not affect the mindset of the team, adding that the players are focused on fulfilling their responsibilities in the best possible way.

“It is not in our hands to win or lose the toss. But whatever the circumstances, winning or losing the toss doesn’t affect the mindset of the whole team, because nobody has to go into that kind of mindset. We have to have this mindset that whatever responsibility is given first, we will fulfill it well.

“We always have that kind of mindset and stay positive all the time. All the boys are in a good mood and are joking around. Our mindset is that whether we win the toss or lose, we will play as a team. I will do my best and not think much,” Shami said at the post-match press conference.
