Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was speaking on the completion of eight years of the Narendra Modi government and the India TV dialogue conference on Monday.

India TV Samvaad: Speaking at the India TV Samvad Sammelan, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that “corruption cannot be stopped unless you change the system”. He said: “One person can never control corruption… but the changes brought in the system by PM Modi are remarkable.”

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said: “I saw Narendra Modi working as an organizer of the Bharatiya Janata Party when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Then I came to the conclusion that Modi is a man who has the skills to run. He also leads the organization and governance. He has a wonderful art of taking everyone along.”

Rajnath Singh said that though Gujarat was a well-known model, PM Modi was everyone’s favourite.

“I was clear that PM Modi is the most popular leader. He was one of those leaders who could take risks,” praised the Defense Minister.

The minister mentioned that after the Pulwama incident, “it was only Modi who could have called for surgical strikes and air strikes”. Rajnath Singh said that it is his nature to take tough decisions in difficult situations.

Discussing that Modi is a dynamic leader, the defense minister said: “It is not necessary for a chief minister to be active in national politics and ambitious enough to be PM material… he had his own dynamic vision.”

The Defense Minister said that Pakistan has understood the fact that India has proved that it will win in both conventional and futuristic wars.

The Defense Minister said, “China should introspect but it will not happen. Its expansionist policy has been built on that basis.” However, the leader said that the Ladakh standoff should have taught him a lesson.

The Defense Minister said, “India does not consider China as an enemy, but if China hurts our self-respect or tries to occupy our land, then we can respond with full force.”
