Vaughan said that momentum is in India’s favor at the moment and he feels India will be favorites in next year’s ODI World Cup as well if they continue to play like this.

“In a year-and-a-half (for the ODI World Cup), things will be different, but India has to get back on the rolls in white-ball cricket. He has just built up that momentum, he has played the way he played in the T20 series,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

Talking about India’s performance in the first ODI, Vaughan said the visitors played with an aggressive approach which blew England away.

“We talk about aggression, they were aggressive with the ball today, and they were aggressive on the field. That’s what you have to do when things are going in your favor, you have to blow up teams. England are an excellent team.” Which should give India a lot of confidence.”

He feels that the current Indian team has all the potential to win all the upcoming ICC events.

“I have said before, this Indian one-day team has not come close to winning anything for a long time. They should be there or there in just about every single Champions Trophy, T20 World Cup and ODI World Cup,” he said.

The former England captain said that India have made their own white-ball team from the IPL and they have the skills to win the upcoming T20 World Cup.

“This Indian group of white-ball experts that is built on the back of the IPL, must be leading in every way in all conditions of the world. Just not at home next year. He should be able to reach Australia in a few months’ time as he is one of the clear favorites to win the tournament. He definitely has enough skills,” he said.
