India recorded 5,326 new COVID-19 cases with 453 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday, there were a total of 8,043 discharges in the country, taking the total number of cured people to 3,41,95,060.

The daily increase in new coronavirus infections for the last 54 days has been recorded below 15,000. The total active cases of COVID-19 in India has come down to 79,097, data from the ministry showed today.

Under the nationwide vaccination campaign, 138.34 (1,38,34,78,181) crore vaccine doses have been administered so far.

The total death toll in the country now stands at 4,78,007. In India, the first death due to the COVID pandemic was reported in March 2020.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16.

It crossed 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October, 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December. India crossed the grim milestone of 20 million on 4 May and 30 million on 23 June.
