India reports 39,796 covid cases in last 24 hours, daily positivity rate remains below 5%

Covid in India: IIn the last 24 hours, 39,796 new cases have been reported in India. The active caseload of the country has come down to 4,82,071. India’s active cases now account for 1.58% of the total cases.

While 42,352 patients were cured during the last 24 hours, a total of 2,97,00,430 have been cured so far across the country.

The number of daily recoveries exceeds the daily new cases for the 53rd consecutive day.

The recovery rate has increased to 97.11 percent. Weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently 2.40%

Daily positivity rate of 2.61%, less than 5% for 28 consecutive days.

Indian Council of Medical Research tests 41,97,77,457 samples for COVID-19 Until 4 July 2021. Of these, 15,22,504 samples were tested yesterday.

After more than 100 days, Agra reported zero cases of COVID-19, giving a great relief to the over-stressed medical infrastructure as the past few days saw only two or three cases.

According to officials, the total number of cases from March 2020 till date stood at 25,709. The total death toll is 453. Now the number of active cases is 63. So far 11,95,181 samples have been tested. The recovery rate is 97.99%.

vaccination update

While the Center has said that the vaccination drive has been intensified across the country, many cities are still going through a crisis and amid the shortage of COVID-19 vaccines in Maharashtra, the Mayor of Pune said that Kovishield will be available on any vaccination. There will be no center under the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation today. However, Covaxin will be available at six centres, each with 200 doses. Earlier on Thursday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) suspended the vaccination drive in Mumbai due to shortage of stock.

Also, according to a report in Hindustan Times, the Bihar government has changed its norms to vaccinate its population against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19). According to the new guidelines, the vaccination of Kovid-19 will be done four days a week. Two days will be kept for routine vaccination, while no such activity will be done on Sunday.

According to the order of the Bihar government on Sunday, the vaccination of Kovid-19 will be done in the state on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
