India has recorded 2,451 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday, April 22. This has pushed the total number of active cases to 14,241, with 5,22,116 total deaths in the country.

For the third day in a row, India has recorded more than 2,000 new cases of Covid-19. India recorded more than 2,000 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, April 21, with 2,380 new infections and 1,231 recoveries. There were 13,433 active cases in the country on Thursday and this has increased to 14,241, marking an increase of 808 cases.

Twelve students in Chennai IIT tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, April 21. As many as 18 people were tested and 12 tested positive, state Health Secretary Radhakrishnan said.

A total of 2,067 fresh cases were reported on Wednesday, marking a sharp rise from the 1,247 new infections registered on Tuesday.

The total number of people vaccinated in the country reached 1,87,26,26,515, on Friday, April 22.
