This historic victory marks India’s first-ever win by over 400 runs in test cricket, making it their largest win in terms of runs across their 577 Test matches. Surpassing their previous record of a 372-run victory over New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in 2021.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s incredible unbeaten 214 off just 236 balls, where he matched the record for the most sixes (12) in a Test innings, laid the foundation for India’s dominant second innings total of 430 for four declared, granting them a colossal lead of 556 runs.
This mammoth lead provided the perfect opportunity for Ravindra Jadeja to showcase his brilliance, as England’s hopes of chasing down big targets with an aggressive approach faded away.
India’s aggressive wicket-taking strategy rattled England’s top order, leaving them crumbling without making any significant contributions.
Supported by Kuldeep Yadav (2/19), Jasprit Bumrah (1/18), and Ravichandran Ashwin (1/19), who returned to the match after tending to a medical emergency at home, Ravindra Jadeja continued to dominate the English batsmen.
