PM Modi in America: Democracy is in India, it runs in our veins and there is no question of discriminating on the basis of caste, creed or religion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in response to a question from a journalist during the joining statement at the White House.
Responding to a reporter’s question on what steps the government is prepared to take to improve the rights of minorities in the country, PM Modi said that democracy is in the DNA of both India and America, it is in our souls, thoughts and We live by it…our forefathers enshrined it in the form of the Constitution.”
He said, “Our constitution and our government have proved that democracy can do anything… There is no place for any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed or religion.”
He said, “If there are no human values, human rights…then it is not a democracy…When you live in a democracy, there is no apprehension or possibility of any kind of discrimination…”
“In India, everyone has access to all kinds of government schemes… everyone benefits.”
