India Does Not Believe in Hierarchical Conception of World Order, Says Defence Minister

He said that India does not believe in the hierarchical concept of world order where some countries are considered superior to others.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday told a conference of ambassadors that India’s national efforts towards ‘Make in India’ are neither isolationist nor are they only for the country.

“India’s international relations are guided by the very essence of human equality and dignity,” the minister said at the ambassadors’ conference, briefing about the upcoming Aero India. It is the largest aerospace exhibition in Asia. It will be held in Bengaluru next month.

“We do not believe in creating or becoming a client or satellite state, and therefore, when we enter into a partnership with any nation, it is on the basis of sovereign equality and mutual respect,” Singh said.

The Defense Minister said that India’s self-reliance initiative is the beginning of a new paradigm of partnership with its partner countries.

He said, our national efforts towards ‘Make in India’ are neither isolationist nor are they only for India.
