It was another memorable day for India at the Commonwealth Games as three more medals were added to the tally.

Shushila Devi Likambam and Vijay Kumar Yadav brought in silver and bronze medals in Judo respectively, while Harjinder Kaur added to the Indian weightlifting contingent’s tally in Birmingham.

The table tennis and badminton teams have assured India medals while the Indian Lawn Bowls team created history as they entered their first-ever final.

However, there were a few disappointments along the way, as Joshna Chinappa crashed out of the women’s singles competition and weightlifter Ajay Singh missed out on a medal by a whisker.

The Indian men’s hockey team also had a disappointing day as they let a three-goal advantage slip to be held to a 4-4 draw in their second game.

JUDO: VIJAY KUMAR GETS BRONZE

Judoka Vijay Kumar Yadav pulled off an incredible performance to win the bronze medal with victory over Petros Christodoulides of Cyprus in the men’s 60kg event.

BOXING: HUSSAMUDIN JOINS PANGHAL IN QUARTERS

India’s Mohammed Hussamudin became the second boxer on Monday to qualify for the quarterfinals of boxing, after Amit Panghal.

Panghal had secured his spot in the quarters earlier in the day with a win over Namri Berri of Vanuatu via a unanimous verdict.
