India Among Top Three Markets for AI-powered Bing Preview: Microsoft Official

India has emerged as one of the top three markets for Microsoft’s new Bing preview, which includes ChatGPT, and is its biggest image maker market, a senior company executive has said, as the search engine competes with rival Google. Much better.

Powered by ChatGPT, Microsoft launched the new Bing preview on 7 February. ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched in November 2022.

“Search has changed and will change. It’s not going away. Just like when television came into existence, radio didn’t, but TV got a bit more buzz. It’s going to be the same here. Answers Chat AI The new capabilities of Bing are increasingly exciting now because they’re helping to answer questions that search didn’t used to. And with Bing, we’re completely unique in that leadership today,” said Microsoft’s corporate vice president and consumer chief Marketing Officer Yusuf Mehdi told PTI.

Microsoft, led by its Indian-American CEO Satya Nadella, thinks of the search engine as “your co-pilot” for the world web. This does four things: better search, answer questions, chat and create content.

“We are now doing over 100 million daily activities on Bing. We’re in 169 countries and India is one of the top three markets for us in this new Bing preview. In fact, based on users using the feature, India is the top image maker market, which is pretty neat indeed,” said Mehdi.

“So, among all the countries in the world, India is on top. Along with some of these visual capabilities, one of the things we announced last week is Knowledge Cards. So that now you can get rich view of searches. we are looking for a Bollywood Actor Kiara Advani features as the top search in Knowledge Card along with other actors in the Indian market. So, seeing tremendous engagement there (in India).

Responding to a question, he said, Indian market is very active as people in the country are using many new features introduced by Microsoft recently.

He said that the new Bing is getting very positive response from its users.

“The response is overwhelmingly positive as people love it as a new way to search, not just answers, but the ability to chat and search. This is an important thing because it marks the difference between us and Google, ” They said.

“Google is trying to say that chat has nothing to do with search and that they are separate products. We think they are one integrated product. … We’ve had a lot of feedback from people in chat about Milli who want to use it for more than just search,” he said.

People want to have social entertainment and be able to talk to AI chatbots, Mehdi said, adding Microsoft is continuing to improve the factual accuracy of answers.

“While it can be very creative, there are still areas where we can do better. Things like math questions, things like searching about different people, we’re still doing more work there,” They said.

Some things like knowledge cards and stories are very unique to Bing, which Google doesn’t do, he said.

“When you do a search, we can now give you richer answers about what it looks like. For example, we can give you five images of what you’re looking for. So, If you’re looking for, for example, Cara Advani, we can give you the actor and we can show you different pictures, lots of information in the knowledge card,” he said.

“So we are automating answers specific to the Indian market for top searches, be it actors or film stars or be it top news in India or top travel destinations in India. We are making a lot of special cards for India.

Noting that search is still a magical tool, Mehdi said it has evolved and is now also being used for planning and getting answers to complex questions.

With the new AI, Bing can answer complex questions that regular searches can’t, he said.

“One of the strides we’ve made with Bing is that we’re now able to answer questions, many of the questions that Google can’t because we’re using ChatGPT to help refine … because we’re using AI to help answer the question,” he said.

Google has taken a different approach so far, he said.

“They have a very different chat product called Bard which is separate from Google Search. They didn’t do any AI work in Google Search. We came up with it right. So, we now have a better offering for people . And we think this is the future of bringing search and chat and creation together. That’s why our vision is so different from theirs.’

He added that the latest development will have an impact on the news industry as well.

“The way the news industry works today with search is that … there’s a very delicate balance of … do great journalism like yourself, then someone searches for the latest news, let’s say Something has happened in Israel. And then there might be a piece of information and then I click on that to go to the story,” he said.

“Now with AI and chat, you can get even more clear answers, but not necessarily articles or good reporting. That will change a little bit. What we’re doing is now we’re getting more content to people.” Providing links to bring more traffic.

“I think what will happen is we’ll see more traffic from news agencies and new publishers because of what we’re doing to help get better answers at Bing. But it will change the advertising model. We think less advertising which will be more relevant and give higher returns,” Mehdi said.
